This is a simple text adventure template for Game Maker Studio 2. I've worked on this for about a week, and it has a few key features that I thought people interested in making text adventures within GMS2 would be interested in.
I intend on this being an ongoing project, with updates and changes made by users to help people work with the template and use it to the best of their abilities and work with the software they prefer to make the games they want. This will also support me in my endeavors to make my own game, which I am presently working on.
FEATURES: Easy to navigate and use UI template. Complete working Save/Load system. Working 1-dimensional array for inventory. Short example of character creation. Fully commented code, with tips, suggestions, and notes. Brief explanations of the test game so that you can read along with how thing work as you test the initial code before making your own changes.
These will be changed and edited in future updates, if need be. I will be watching my feedback and comments for suggestions for updates. So if you have any, please be sure to leave them here!
